A Co-author for the Rails Book

David Heinemeier Hansson has come on board as a co-author of the new Rails book.

So how do you go about writing a book about a technology that’s advancing every week? How do you make sure that you capture both the detail and, as importantly, the spirit behind the surface? How do you make it the best book it can be?

Seems to me that a good way would be to have the guy who invented the technology help write the book.

Which is why I’m smugly delighted to announce that David Heinemeier Hansson has come on board as a co-author of the new Rails book. He’ll be contributing chapters, writing a series of "David says" sidebars to explain the underlying philosophy of things, and generally keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Then, to top that off, I’ve also got chapters on Security and Ajax coming in from knowledgable folks in the Rails community. But more on those later…
